Position on Congressional Term Limits

As a candidate for Congress in Mississippi's 4th District, I, Carl Boyanton, strongly support implementing term limits for members of the U.S. Congress to restore accountability, reduce the influence of career politicians, and ensure fresh perspectives in our government.

As a candidate for Congress in Mississippi's 4th District, I, Carl Boyanton, strongly support implementing term limits for members of the U.S. Congress to restore accountability, reduce the influence of career politicians, and ensure fresh perspectives in our government. For too long, Washington has been dominated by lifelong insiders who prioritize special interests over the needs of everyday Americans. Term limits would break this cycle, encouraging public servants to focus on results rather than perpetual reelection campaigns.

Specifically, I advocate for a constitutional amendment limiting service in the House of Representatives to 12 years (six two-year terms) and in the Senate to 12 years (two six-year terms). This balanced approach allows elected officials enough time to gain expertise and achieve meaningful reforms while preventing the entrenchment of power that leads to corruption and stagnation. Twelve years strikes the right balance—long enough to make an impact, short enough to keep representatives connected to the real world.

If elected, I pledge to make this a top priority. I will personally reach out to every member of the House and Senate—regardless of party—to build bipartisan support for this critical reform. Mississippians deserve leaders who fight for change, not those who cling to power.

Together, we can reclaim our government for the people.

Position on Fraud Waste and Abuse

I am outraged by the rampant fraud, waste, and abuse plaguing every corner of the federal government. Year after year, we lose hundreds of billions—potentially $233 billion to $521 billion annually to fraud alone, according to estimates from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) based on recent data. When you add in improper payments, which totaled about $162 billion in FY 2024 across just a handful of reported programs (with cumulative improper payments since 2003 reaching $2.8 trillion), the scale becomes staggering.

Position on Federal Budget

Position on Federal Budget

I am deeply concerned about the federal budget and the runaway spending that threatens our nation’s future. Our national debt now exceeds $38.5 trillion—with interest payments alone becoming one of the fastest-growing expenses in the budget—and the debt-to-GDP ratio hovers around 124%. This is unsustainable.
